About Me
I’m Laura and I’ve enjoyed cooking and spending time in the kitchen my whole life. I don’t cook professionally, but 2 of my closest friends do. I’ve learned a lot from them about technique and equipment over the years. More importantly, my grandmother is a great pretty great cook and I learned a lot from her!
I really enjoy traveling to try local food in different regions and countries. In fact, my passion for cooking really accelerated when my friend and I took a trip to France about 9 years ago. We traveled all across wine country in central France and go to try some amazing food (oh yeah, and wine!).
When I got back from France I promised myself I was going to improve my technique and learn about how to cook some of the amazing dishes I learned about in France. Since then I’ve had the chance to travel to a lot of other places and I always try to bring back an interesting recipe or technique.
Another thing you should know about me is I love to do some detailed research before investing in my kitchen equipment. It can get expensive fast! So if I’m shopping for new kitchen gear like a mixer or even a set of knives I’ll usually spend hours reading reviews and looking into which factors are most important for that piece of equipment.
I decided to share some of my recipes and research here a and the response so far has been really amazing. I really want this to be a place to learn from each other and share ideas and tricks we’ve picked up in the kitchen.
I hope you enjoy the site, and would love to hear from you if you do! You can contact me here.
